About PinDown
PinDown (pindown.pro) is a free web tool for saving media from Pinterest. You paste the link of one public Pin and download what Pinterest serves for it: the video as an MP4 file for a video Pin, or the full-size image for an image Pin.
Why we built it
Pins disappear. A creator deletes a post, a board gets cleaned out, or an account goes private, and the recipe video or design idea you saved is gone. Pinterest lets you save Pins inside the app, but not always as a file on your own device. PinDown does that one job: turn a Pin link into a file you keep.
How PinDown works
- You paste the link of a single public Pin, from the app or from pinterest.com.
- Our server reads the public Pin and lists the files Pinterest provides for it, such as the MP4 video (often 720p) or the image.
- You choose a file and it is passed to your browser. We do not re-encode it, so you get the quality Pinterest stores, and we do not keep a copy.
What PinDown cannot do
- It reads one Pin at a time. Boards, profiles and search pages are not supported.
- Private Pins, secret boards and deleted Pins cannot be downloaded.
- It cannot make a file sharper than the version Pinterest has.
Respect for creators
Every Pin belongs to the person who made it. PinDown is meant for keeping your own content, saving ideas for personal reference, and working with media you have permission to use. Please credit creators and follow Pinterest's rules when you share anything. Our Terms of Service explain the details.
Independent service
PinDown is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Pinterest. "Pinterest" is a trademark of its owner and is used only to describe the platform the tool works with.
